SomaOak is Ecodure's made-to-order engineered oak flooring — designed for project work where the bevel depth is exacting, the finish needs to be tactile in just the right way, and the grain pattern has to satisfy the most fastidious of boat builders. We've worked with a few.
Like the rest of the Ecodure range, SomaOak is supplied direct from the manufacturer. What sets it apart is the freedom to build the floor from the ground up — board thickness, wear-layer depth, width, length, grade, surface texture, stain, sheen, and edge profile all selected to brief. No off-the-shelf compromise.
The process isn't fast. It's slow, low, and detailed — the same way we approach our Cooked Peat Blackbutt. If you're working to a timeline that allows real craft to happen, SomaOak is built for you.

Build it from the ground up.
Most engineered oak floors are sold as a finished decision — a colour, a width, a grade, take it or leave it. SomaOak opens that decision back up.
Board thickness, wear-layer depth, plank width, plank length, grade, surface texture, stain, sheen, edge profile, pattern (plank, herringbone, chevron) — every specification is selected against the design intent before the boards are made. The result is a floor built around the project, not adapted to it.
The process takes longer than ordering off the shelf — warmed up slow and low, the way our Peat Blackbutt is. If you're specifying early in the design phase, that's exactly the timeline SomaOak is built for.
